How to Use

• Cast on:
  • Start by casting all your stitches onto one needle—just like normal
  • Example: If your pattern says “cast on 36 stitches,” put all 36 on one double pointed needle
• Divide the stitches: Slide the stitches around and spread them evenly over three (or four) needles. That might mean 12 stitches per needle if you’re using three
• Arrange in a circle:
  • Hold your needles so they form a triangle (or square) shape
  • Make sure all your stitches are facing the same way (the cast-on edge should be on the inside of the circle). This prevents twisting before you join to knit in the round
• Join to work in the round:
  • Take an empty needle (your working needle) and start knitting into the first stitch you cast on
  • Pull the first few stitches snugly—this closes the gap between the first and last needle
  • Now you’re knitting in the round!
  • Keep going around
• After you knit all the stitches on one needle:
  • The empty needle you just finished with becomes your new working needle
  • Move to the next needle full of stitches and knit across those
  • Keep repeating this—always knit off a full needle using the empty one
  • Continue your pattern
  • Work as the pattern says: knit, purl, increase, decrease, etc
  • As you go, the work will grow down from the circle of needles—forming a tube
